All-Natural Remedies for Beautiful Skin
Throughout history women have employed homemade remedies to improve their personal skin care regimes. Using home remedies has several advantages over store-bough skin care products. Products made at home are all natural, can be made quickly and easily without leaving the home and are much cheaper than store brands. The following are but a sampling of some skin treatments you can develop at home.
Cleansers for your skin
Chemical-free cleansers can be created with products found in your own kitchen. One effective method to cleanse the skin is to dab a cotton ball in milk and wipe your face with it. It cleans both the surface and the pores. Almond oil can also be used as it is equally effective, especially in cleaning the delicate areas around the eye.
Skin moisturizers
For daily care of normal skin, mix 1 cup of plain yogurt, 1 tablespoon of orange juice, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice together to form a paste. Use the mixture as a mask and apply to the face for at least 15 minutes. Remove by wiping the skin with a damp tissue. This mixture not only cleans the skin but also leaves the area more radiant.
If your skin is dry, try mixing cooked oatmeal with honey and applying it to your skin as a mask. It works as a wonderful moisturizer.
Nourishment and skin lightener
To nourish and bleach your skin, make a mask by soaking four almonds and 1 tablespoon of urad dal overnight in water. Grind the mixture into a paste the next morning and apply it to your face. Leave on the face for 30 minutes, then rinse.
For soft, wrinkle-free skin
To soften your skin and combat wrinkles, apply pure castor oil to your face. It is thought to take years off your appearance.
Skin conditioners
Blend 1 tablespoon of honey and 2 tablespoons of cream. Apply the mixture to your face and leave on for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse.
Blemish correctors
To combat skin blemishes and red splotches on your face, try rubbing them with a slice of raw potato.
Skin protection and coolant
Mix equal amounts of cucumber juice, glycerin, and rose water. Refrigerate the blend for at least one to two hours. Apply the mixture to your face to cool and protect your skin from the sun’s damaging rays.
