Alternative Therapies for Morning Sickness
The nausea and vomiting caused by pregnancy is referred to as morning sickness. Some women never experience it but 50 to 80% of women suffer it during the morning hours; it can also occur during any other time of day. Morning sickness is almost always present during the first trimester of pregnancy, but for some women it persists well into the third trimester.
Causes
The most common causes of morning sickness include Vitamin B deficiency, delicate or weak gastrointestinal system, hormonal changes (caused by pregnancy), and chemical changes in the body during pregnancy.
Symptoms
Some of the symptoms of morning sickness are nausea, vomiting, headache, upset stomach, weakness and fatigue, indigestion and/or heartburn, and frequent sensations of heat and sweating (similar to hot flashes).
Home remedies for Morning Sickness
Drink ginger tea first thing in the morning; dissolve wheat germ in milk and take several teaspoons of the mixture each hour; blend 3 drops of lavender essential oil with 1 drop of peppermint oil and put it into the humidifier to freshen the air.
Mix 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar with 1 tablespoon of honey in cold water. Drink at bedtime each night; mix 1 teaspoon lime juice, 1 teaspoon mint juice, and 1 tablespoon of sugar and ingest three times each day.
Dietary suggestions for morning sickness
Eat snacks high in protein right before going to bed; include protein-rich foods and complex carbohydrates in your diet; eat several small meals throughout the day instead of 3 large ones to keep the stomach from getting empty; avoid fried and fatty foods.
Keep saltines by your bed and eat a few of them before getting out of bed in the mornings. The crackers help combat nausea; try eating popsicles between meals. They will help keep you cool and give you something to munch on for long periods of time.
Helpful tips
Get plenty of fresh air to counteract the nausea, take vitamin B and calcium supplements, get plenty of rest each night, stop smoking tobacco, stop drinking alcoholic beverages, and drink plenty of water (8 to 10 glasses each day).

A good way to naturally get past your morning sickness is with apple cider vinegar. The enzymes in the vinegar will actually calm the acids in your stomach and help get rid of the nauseas feelings.
