Avoid Stress, control yourself
Stress is a state of mental or emotional strain or suspense. It is associated with diseases like heart disease, headache, peptic ulcer etc. It can lead to persistent illness and mental disorder. The body and mind react fast to any type of stress factor. A person under stress has trouble in breathing, sweating, rise in blood pressure, increased heart beat etc. All these changes take place in split second under the direction of the nervous system. If the stress factors can be removed immediately, no harm accrues and all the changes are reversible.
Change in life style is important to control stress. Optimum diet, regular exercise and adequate rest are required. Diet is important for a healthy body and healing stress induced diseases. If this is followed, many diseases caused by stress can be eliminated.
Regular Physical exercise plays an important factor for keeping body and mind relaxed. It keeps the body physically and mentally fit. Yoga and meditation are a discipline to promote control of the body and mind. Recreation and rest is also important to keep the mind cool. Moreover that the individual must take care enough to eliminate unnecessary stress.
Certain foods kindle stress and anxiety, like caffeine, many soft drinks, alcohol etc should be conscientiously avoided.
A tea prepared from the leaves of sage is powerful in controlling stress. Mix one glass hot water with one teaspoon sage leaves. After some time it should be strained. This is good for controlling stress.
Tulsi has antioxidant properties, and helps boost the body’s ability to fight off damaging free radicals which have been linked to disease and aging. It is an adaptogen that helps the body fight the effects of ongoing stress and also balances the mind, nerves and emotions.
The leaves of basil are found to be beneficial in the treatment of stress. They are considered as anti-stress agent. Chew 10 to 12 leaves of basil in the empty stomach in the morning will prevent stress.
