Get rid of Anaemia

  • Anaemia may be referred as a condition in which there is a decrease in the quantity of haemoglobin. Anaemia is among the most general ailments affecting human beings. Nearly half the blood flowing in our arteries and veins consists of red blood cells which transports oxygen to the tissues. Each individual should have about 15 gm of haemoglobin per 100 ml of blood, and a blood count of nearly five million red cells per millimeter of blood.

    The patient generally complains of dizziness, fatigue, weakness and lack of energy. Other complains include a haggard look, shortness of breath on exertion, dull and tired looking eyes, premature wrinkles, poor memory, headache, palpitations and slow healing of wounds. The mucous membranes and skin look pale.

    Beets are very useful in curing anaemia. Beet juice contains phosphorus, potassium calcium, sulphur, iron, iodine, copper, protein, carbohydrates, fat, niacin, vitamins B1, B2, B6 and vitamin P. With their very high iron content, beets help in the formation of red blood cells in the blood. The red beet juice strengthens the body’s powers of resistance and has really proved to be good remedy for anaemia, especially for teenagers and children.

    The leaves of fenugreek are good for blood formation. The cooked leaves should be consumed by adolescent girls to prevent anaemia, which may normally occur due to the onset of puberty and menstruation. The seeds of fenugreek are valuable cure for anaemia, being very rich in iron.

    After its absorption, it helps the females in the formation of haemoglobin and red blood cells. It is thus helpful in building up the blood, and in the prevention and treatment of anaemia.

    Wheat grass supplements

It also contains flavonoids, Vitamin C, vitamin A, Vitamin E, Calcium, Iron, magnesium and amino acids. Wheat grass has demonstrated antibiotics, anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. It is used for its high concentration of nutrients.
