  • People with gall bladder disease should follow a diet that is rich in starchy foods like cereals, bread, rice, vegetables, and fruit. It is important that you reduce on red meats or, better stop eating it entirely. You should also avoid refined, fried and fatty foods containing hydrogenated fats, saturated fats, trans fats and partially-hydrogenated fats.

Smaller gallstones can usually be cleared through dietary cure.

In cases of intense gall-bladder inflammation, the patient should fast for two to three days until the acute condition is cleared.

Only water should be taken during this period. After the fast, the patient is advised to take fruit and vegetable juices for a few days.

Beets, cucumbers, green beans, okra, sweet potatoes, carrots, grapefruit, pears, lemons or grapes may be taken in the form of juice. Thereafter, the patient should adopt a healthy diet, with emphasis on cooked and raw vegetables, vegetable juices and fruit, and a moderate amount of seeds and fruits.

Cottage cheese, yoghurt and a tablespoon of olive oil twice a day should be included in the diet.

The patient should eat frequent small meals instead of three large meals.

Eat plenty of fresh fruits and fresh vegetables. Eat fruits like apples, apricots, figs, guavas, pears, grapes, currants, prunes, papaya, melons, berries, avocados, artichokes, sweet potatoes and okra. Eat vegetables like garlic, shallots, celery, dandelion greens, carrots, cucumber, beet, tomatoes, coconuts and lemons.

Eat plenty of green leafy vegetable salads and lace them with olive oil, flax oil and vinegar.

Cook your vegetables food and lean meats using less spices, ginger, and turmeric. These are good aids for easy digestion and have antiseptic properties as well.
Eat low fat dairy products; include low fat cottage cheese and low-fat milk in your meals.

Eat lean meats in moderation or cut meat from your diet.

Eat your last meal of the day before night, so as to give enough time for digestion.

Take fish oil capsules. These contain Omega 3 oil capsules, which is excellent for you. It stops cholesterol build-up in the bile.
