    Most people do not get essential magnesium in their diets. Good sources of magnesium are legumes, nuts, green vegetables and whole grains. Like vitamin B6, magnesium is also needed for serotonin production. Stress use up magnesium.

    Eating sweets make you feel good at first as blood sugar levels soar, but may worsen mood later on when blood sugar levels plunge.
