Home remedies for kidney stones

The formation of stones in the urinary tract is not an uncommon disorder. The stones are formed from the chemicals normally found in the urine such as uric acid, oxalic acid, phosphorus and calcium. They may vary in shape and size from sand, grit and pebbles. Stones may form and grow due to the concentration of a certain substance in the urine exceeds its normal solubility. Most kidney stones are composed either of phosphate or calcium oxalate. About 90% of all stones contain calcium as the foremost constituent. More than half of the kidney stones are mixtures of ammonium, calcium, magnesium, carbonates and phosphates while the remainders contain oxalate.
