How can dry cough be treated?
Dry cough refers to the sudden expulsion of air from the lungs that helps clear the air passages from microbes, irritants and excess secretions. Dry cough is a condition which is void of the presence of phlegm and mucus. It is a common complaint and can affect individuals of all age groups.

It has been noticed that common cold and cough can be successfully treated with the use of grapes in 2-3 days. Eating a combination of fresh grapes and honey is highly beneficial for dealing with cough.
Holy Basil: Holy basil or tulsi is one of the most effective herbs that helps treat all types of cough. If you happen to be suffering from chronic dry cough, take 8-9 fresh tulsi leaves and add them to a cup of boiling water. Allow them to steep over low flam fro about 15 minutes. Add 1 tsp honey to this and strain and drink 3-4 times a day for treating this condition. Alternatively, you can also take Tulsi herbal dietary supplements for curing dry cough.
Onion Syrup: Another helpful remedy for treating dry cough is onion juice. Take and onion and chop it finely. Extract its juice and add honey to it. Keep aside for 4-5 hour. Take it 2-3 times a day to treat cough. Alternatively, you can also take a finely chopped medium sized onion and add the juice of 1 lemon to it. Pour boiling water over it and add honey to taste. Take this remedy 2-3 times a day to treat cough.
