  • Tennis elbow or tendonitis is a condition in which the outer part of the elbow becomes tender and painful. This condition is stimulated by inflammation of the tendons attached to the bony protrusion, above the elbow joint. Devolution of the tendons or tendon tears is also a cause for tennis elbow. As tennis elbow is associated with tendon injury it is also well known as tendonitis. Everyday activities like carrying, lifting, or gripping a difficult task can be the cause for Tennis elbow. The most common problem is that is pain and tenderness around the elbow joint.

    Wrist pain and difficulty in moving is associated with elbow pain. Bending the hand and stretching the fingers becomes painful. Difficulty in grasping and lifting objects is also associated with it. Muscle tightening and painful on the back of the forearm is also accompanied with this disease.

    Apply ice pack on the affected area for 10 to 20 minutes in every 2 or 3 hours can reduce swelling and pain around the elbow area.

    Heat packs and alternating ice packs are also good for reducing pain and swelling.
    Omega -3 fatty acids are good for joints. It is found mainly in fish, including fish in daily diet can help reduce the pain and inflammation.

    Body massage is good for reliving from pain and stress.

    Potato Pack can cure the pain and swelling. Warm and broiled potatoes can help reduce the pain.
