How to Deal With Dark Underarms
All the evening you were admiring her smartness and a fair complexion till she moved one of her arms to help herself to the dish you had just ordered and you realized after all she were not as fair!
The display of dark underarms is all the more pronounced with fair complexion. With the not so fair persons it nearly jells with the rest of the complexion and is not so prominent. It’s quite an embarrassment for both the parties, the bearer as well the onlooker as the former can’t ill afford to wear some of the better designed and styled clothing that expose the affected part, howsoever well shaved, of a female figure.
There are many causes contributing to a darker skin in the said area. Some of these are:
1. Frequent itching accompanied with excessive sweating with accompanied odor.
2. Infrequent or insufficient cleaning of the underarms, leading to accumulation of dead skin.
3. Not shaving the unwanted hair or getting infected in the course of or after the shave.
4. Wearing of tight dresses that cause friction in the area.
5. Frequent use of an inferior or a particular brand of deodorant or hair removing cream.
6. Hyper pigmentation.
How to deal with it?
Here are a few tips and home made remedial measures that are found effective and helpful without really causing any side-effects or taking too much of your time:
A regular use of lemon for rubbing the affected part is good. If that causes itching to your skin, replace the lemon with a potato as it has excellent bleaching characteristics.
With either of the chosen vegetables, extract its juice, apply on the skin and leave it there for 10-15 minutes before washing it with fresh cold water. Bicarbonate of soda, more popularly known as baking powder may also applied in the underarm region after a bath.
Apply a paste comprising an equal mix of lemon and cucumber juice with just a hint of turmeric to the affected area and wash it out after about twenty minutes. An alternate paste could be a mixture of equal proportion of gram flour and curds, again, with a pinch of turmeric to be applied the same way.
The treatment may vary with varying skin.
