How to get rid of Cracked Heels?

Herbal treatments
A routine regime of cleaning and moisturizing your feet is a good cure for dry or cracked heels. At the end of the day soak your feet in warm soapy water for about 20 minutes. Wipe off the excess water with a cleaned towel. Make a mix of one teaspoon Vaseline and one teaspoon lemon juice. Rub this mixture onto the cracked heels and other required areas of the feet with your fingers until it is thoroughly absorbed. This will provide visible results.
Another result oriented solution is to melt paraffin wax and mix it well with enough mustard oil. Apply this mix on the dry or cracked area of the heels and wear socks and wash it off in the morning. A continuous application of this mix for around15 days can achieve desirable results.
Apply any hydrogenated or shortening vegetable oil after washing and removing the dead cells on the dry and cracked areas of the feet. After applying a thick coat of shortening on the feet, wear a pair of thick cotton socks. Repeat this treatment for few days by leaving this application can surely provide positive results.
Mash a ripe banana and cover it over the cracked area. Leave it for fifteen to twenty minutes and then wash it off. You can also apply a mixture of glycerin and rosewater daily on the cracked heels. Apply lemon juice to the cracked heel daily for about 15 days fortnight and wash it off in the morning.
Diet
Cracked heels are caused by deficiency of vitamins, omega 3 fatty acids, minerals and zinc. Therefore it is essential to have a diet rich in zinc, vitamins and minerals. Omega-3 fatty acids are not naturally produced by the body, so it has to be ingested from other food or supplements. Green leafy vegetables, cereals, eggs, milk, cheeses, nuts, broccoli, chicken, fish, brown rice, yoghurt and whole grain products are a good source of these nutrients.
