  • Weight gain has emerged as a big problem in recent times. People of all age groups are affected but females are the worst affected by weigh gain. Unhealthy life style is the main cause of increasing cases of over weight gain. Now the tendency of weight gain is also increasing in children and men whereas in past females patients were more in number. More over the age group of people affected by over weight gain has also come down sharply. Now all age groups are having fat peoples.

    Causes of weight gain

    The main reason of increasing cases of weight gain is changing life style with more and more comforts adding day by day. Physical work is reducing day by day and more and more machines are coming to help mankind. But this development is reducing all kind of physical work. Secondly with this busy schedule people have no time for games, sports, walks, exercises etc. Children are also shifting from open sports and games to computer games.

    Diet has also a major role in healthy life but with changing times our eating habits are also changing. Fast foods, canned foods, cold drinks and oily, spicy, junk foods are more popular now a days. All these factors are increasing life style diseases like weight gain or fat body. Preventive measures- The best way to avoid weight gain is to exhaust and use body. Physical work is must to burn the calories we are taking through food. Morning walks , exercises, yoga, work outs are must to keep body fit.

    Diet should include healthy, fresh and living food. This includes fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, juices, milk, cereals and other items which can be used more in there natural form. Fried, Canned and fast foods should be avoided as the main source of fat for extra weight comes from these only. One should try to discourage the use of extra facilities for comfort of the body ,as to keep the body fit ,body needs to be used continuously.

    Treatment for overweight

    Apart from physical exercises and dietary restrictions, over weight individuals should take help from medicines to reduce weight at faster pace.       Thanks for this article on obesity. I think the most important thing we can do is teach our children how to eat right and get them to stop using and depending on all the technology so much. All the computer games, cell phones, laptops, calculators, etc… are making our children overweight and lazy. Thank you.
