How to treat Hypertension?

  • Hypertension or high blood pressure is one of the most common ailments of contemporary times. It is considered to be a lifestyle disease that is caused by increased levels of stress, sedentary lifestyle, obesity and diabetes. Excessive intake of table salt, refined foods, alcohol, tea, coffee and smoking can also cause hypertension.

    There are no pronounced symptoms of hypertension, however, the first symptoms may appear in the form of pain towards the back of the head or neck which usually occurs on waking up in the morning and soon disappears. Other symptoms include dizziness, ache in the arms, legs and back, heart palpitations, pain in the heart, frequent urination, nervous tension and fatigue. An individual suffering from high blood pressure is unable to undertake any strenuous work, is constantly fatigued and may suffer from frequent indigestion.

    Treatment for hypertension:
    The diet of an individual suffering from high blood pressure should comprise of fresh fruits and vegetables such as oranges, pears, raspberry, watermelon, pineapples, guava, cucumber, carrots, tomatoes, cabbages, radishes and spinach. Foods such as meat, eggs and refined food products should be eliminated from the diet and the intake of table salt should be minimized.

    Amla or Indian gooseberry is one of the best natural remedies for treating hypertension. Take 1 tbsp of amla juice and mix it with honey. Take this every morning on an empty stomach to treat hypertension.

    Lemon is also highly beneficial for lowering high blood pressure as it is a rich source of Vitamin P. Extract the juice of 1 lemon and add it to a glass of water. Drink this several times during the day to keep your blood pressure under control.

    Dilguard is a cardio-protective product and helps lower high blood pressure. It is recommended to take Dilguard herbal dietary supplements in the form of vegetable capsules on a daily basis for best results.

    Regular consumption of onions has shown to lower high blood pressure, thereby preventing arthrosclerosis and diabetic heart disease. Raw onions can be eaten with food or as salad to prevent hypertension.

    Crushed or finely chopped garlic yields allicin, a powerful compound that helps combat hypertension. It is recommended to include garlic in your daily diet for best results.
