Is Baala Sanjeevini Precautionary Measure for cold and cough?

I have been told that baala sanjeevini (ayurvedic medicine) helps builds immunity against common cold/cough in infants. I started using it once a week for my 17month old daughter. is it safe to use as a precautionary measure against cold? every time I gave her so far she ended up with cold next day. Any help?

Baal Sanjivani is indicated for common coughs and colds but then if your kid develops cold on very next day, every time, it is probably not suiting and hence to be stopped.
In Ayurveda, there are many options to build immunity, particularly that of respiratory system. Simply you can prepare a decoction of Holy Basil Leaves and just add Licorice (a pinch) and let your kid have it. You can make this as daily process throughout the year. Make it sure that holy basil leaves and licorice you take are of purest form/category. You can bank on this simple though very effective remedy to boost immunity, especially for respiratory tract.
Alternatively, you can also use Septilin (syrup) in order to build immunity in your kid. About half a teaspoon twice a day would be sufficient. Take other precautionary measurements such as not giving cold water, stop bottle feeding (prefer bowl and spoon those are sterilized).
Also, protect her from cold and do not ever put her under direct wind (fan). Vicks (external application) has good results and can be applied on chest, neck and back (apply a little first and confirm that her skin accepts it well).

Thanks for your reply Dr.AyurvedicCure . I would like to know if the way I am using baala sanjeevini is the right way to use it. is it meant to be used as a medicine when cold develops in a child or can it be used as a precautionary measure?
I know some medicines in both ayurveda and homeopathy tend to bring the symptoms out before it actually helps the situation .Not sure if this one beongs to that category.
In other words I am not sure if it is because of this medicine my daughter is developing cold. I couldnt find enough information anywhere to see if I could use this baala sanjeevini as a precautionary measure ?
I just want to make sure I am using it the right way….
