Introduction and causes of constipation:
Constipation is a disease of lifestyle. Physical work ,outdoor games , healthy foods, proper sleeps,yoga and exercises have no place in todays busy scheduled life. This has very negative effect on our health. Our bowl movements generally diminish with time without proper stimulation, internal mucosal lining of intestines is masked by end products from digestion of unhealthy oily, starchy, fast foods. This results in constipation or the wastes from our body are not properly cleaned.

Constipation is a root cause for many other ailments of body because the harmful wastes and toxins start depositing in body. These toxins give birth to many other problems. Major problems that are directly linked with constipation are loss of appetite, flatulence, pain abdomen, piles and other gastrointestinal diseases. If not cured in time this may lead to other systemic problems.
Natural treatment for constipation:Generally people take laxatives available in market which may or may not relieve the problem and it turns to be chronic constipation. Constipation if not chronic or to prevent the onset of constipation one should take minimum 4-5 liters of water daily. Ushah pan or taking water empty stomach daily is very good for health and helps in cleansing bowel. Fiber rich diet which includes large amount of fruits and vegetables should constitute one third of the total diet of healthy individual. Wheat bran should not be separated while making chapaties. over and unnecessary use of laxatives should be avoided.
Yogic exercises for constipation:
Kapal bhati pranayam is very good for constipation.It stimulates bowel movements. Gomukhasana is also very effective. Mandukasana should be regularly practised for the same.
Morning walk is also very effective in stimulating motion but it should not be vigorous or brisk walk till one clears the motion.So constipation can be prevented and cured by making slight changes in our life style and eating habits.
