  • The term asthma literally means ‘panting’ or ‘short drawn breath’ and is one of the most common and annoying respiratory diseases. It is accompanied by frequent attacks of breathlessness in which patients seem to be gasping for breath and have more trouble while exhaling than inhaling due to the clogging up of the nasal passages of the small bronchi with mucus.

The onset of asthma can be gradual or abrupt. Sudden attacks are often preceded by coughing spells accompanied by itching on the chin, chest or neck, whereas gradual attacks are caused by a respiratory tract infection. A chronic attack of asthma causes increased heartbeat, increased respiratory rates, restlessness and fatigue. This may be accompanied by tightness in the chest, coughing, increased sweating and vomiting.

Asthma is caused due to constriction in the bronchial tubes of the lungs making it difficult for the patient to breathe normally. Various factors that can trigger an asthma attack include allergic reactions, improper functioning of the lungs and respiratory tract infection.

    Natural cure for asthma:

Natural treatment for asthma focuses on stimulating the functioning of the excretory organs, intake of a well balanced diet for eliminating toxic substances and strengthening the respiratory system by practicing yoga and other deep breathing exercises to boost the lungs, digestive system and circulatory organs.
