Natural remedies for Hypertension

  • Hypertension or high blood pressure is caused when the blood flows through the arteries at higher than normal pressure. This exerts stress on the artery walls and can result in their damage and interfere with proper supply of blood to other parts of the body. Hypertension is caused due to prolonged stress, intake of high amount of salt in the diet, kidney failure, obesity and high level of cholesterol in the body.

    Hypertension is a silent killer and its primary symptom includes pain radiating from the back of the head and neck in the morning. Other symptoms of this disease include fatigue, vertigo, nervous tension, angina-like pain, difficulty in breathing and frequent urination.

    Home remedy for hypertension:
    There are various home remedies that are recommended for treating hypertension. You also need to make some changes in your diet and lifestyle pattern in order to combat hypertension and lead a healthy life.

    Honey syrup: Take 3 tbsp of honey and add powdered cumin seeds to it. Mix this with 1tbsp ginger juice and have this twice a day.

    Gooseberry syrup: Take 2 tbsp of gooseberry juice and add it to honey. Take this mixture everyday before breakfast to cure hypertension at home.

    Fenugreek: Take fresh leaves of fenugreek and boil them in 1 cup of water. Sip this first thing in the morning to lower high blood pressure.

    Garlic: This herb is very useful for treating hypertension. It controls muscle spasms and reduces hypertension by making the heart beat normal and easing the pulse. Eating two crushed garlic cloves everyday is ideal for treating high blood pressure.

    Curry leaves: You can chew curry leaves or boil them in water and strain the liquid and drink it twice a day for lowering high blood pressure.

    Essential fatty acids liquid supplements are an effective remedy for lowering high blood pressure.

    Alfalfa: This herb helps lower  hypertension by reducing the stiffness of the arteries. It can be taken as a dietary supplement.

    Vitamin E supplements: These are available in the form of perfect E supplement capsules and help support a healthy heart and circulatory system.

    Jaundice berry: This herb helps dilate the arteries and eases the flow of blood, thereby reducing hypertension.

    Water melon seeds: Dry the seeds of a water melon and ground them to powder form. Take 2 tsp of the powdered watermelon seeds with a glass of water to treat hypertension.
