Natural Remedies for Urinary Tract Infections

When bacteria enter into the urethra, a disorder called urinary tract infection results. The kidneys, urethra, and ureters are all vital organs that make up the urinary tract.

Once infection sets in, pain and discomfort ensues in these organs and if not treated promptly, serious conditions can arise involving the kidneys. Individuals having low immunity to disease are the ones most affected by urinary tract infections. In most cases, women are the ones affected most often.

Home remedies for Urinary Tract Infections
Add ½ tsp of baking soda to 1 cup of water and drink – this should be done in the initial stages of the infection – the acid-base levels in your urine will decrease and help stop the bacteria from growing.

Mix cranberry and apple juices in equal amounts and drink; drink one glass of undiluted cranberry juice; take ½ tsp of tincture every hour; drink the juice of fresh berries 2 times every day to treat severe urinary tract infections; drink the juice of fresh grapes to reduce urinary pain (burning while urinating).

To prevent urinary tract infections from occurring, drink lots of liquids by increasing the amount of water and fruit juices you drink during the day – this tip is twofold in that, not only does it help in treating the infection, it will also help remove all the toxins from the body so that you won’t get infections as easily.

Increase the amount of Vitamin C in your diet by eating Vitamin C-rich foods (Milk, fresh fruits, and fresh green vegetables) or take Vitamin C supplements – Vitamin C will strengthen your immunity levels and stop the bacteria’s growth.

Avoid cheese, dairy products, coffee, alcoholic beverages, spicy foods, rich foods, fatty foods, and chocolate.

Mix tree-tree oil, frankincense oil, sandalwood oil, and bergamot oil in equal amounts – use the resulting oil as massage oil for your bladder area to reduce the pain of the infection – this is primarily the same as using aromatherapy.
