Natural remedy for Psoriasis

  • Psoriasis is a chronic skin disease; the skin of the diseased person appears red and irritated and may be covered with bright silvery scales. On certain occasions there is also a little itching. It occurs especially on the scalp, ears, genitalia and the skin over bony prominces. Many times they are from half an inch to several inches in size. The wounds are always dry and rarely infected. This is also a heredity disease as it tends to occur in families. The factors that worsen and precipitate the irruption of this disease are infections, physical and emotional stress, certain medicines and treatments.Natural remedy for Psoriasis

    The thickest and the greenest outer leaves of the cabbage leaves used in the form of compresses are beneficial in the treatment of psoriasis. They should be cleaned and dries with a towel. Flatten the leaves and remove the thick veins. Warm the leaves and apply smoothly on the affected area in the overlapping manner. A pad of soft cloth should be put over them. The whole compress then secured with an elastic bandage.

    Bitter gourd is a worthful remedy for psoriasis. Take a tablespoon of lime juice and a cup of fresh bitter gourd juice, mix it well.  This should be taken daily in empty stomach sip by sip, for four to six months.

    Buttermilk has proved very helpful in psoriasis. The patient should drink it in a large quantity.  Using buttermilk compresses over the affected area is also good for treating this disease.

    Vitamin E therapy is good treatment for psoriasis for reducing itching and scab formation. The patient is advised to take 400mg vitamin a day.

    The oil of avocado is also beneficial in the treatment of this disease. Apply this oil on the affected area for better results.

    Neem supplements

    Neem is highly recommended for the effects it has upon the skin. It is referred to maintain a healthy glow on the skin. Due to neem’s anti-bacterial properties, it is effective in fighting most epidermal dysfunctions such as Acne, psoriasis and Eczema.

    During the initial period of juice fast, a lukewarm water enema should be used daily to cleanse the bowels. Application of sea water externally over the affected area and regular sea-water bath once in a day is beneficial.
