Natural treatment for cholera
Cholera is one of the most severe diseases of the intestines and strikes suddenly filling the intestinal canal with bacilli that may leave the person alive or dead. Cholera advances in three stages. During the first stage the individual suffers from mild diarrhea and vomiting that worsens rapidly. The stool becomes watery and is void of any fecal matter. This is accompanied by severe cramps in the abdominal region and limbs due to lack of salts in the body. The patient’s temperature rises but the skin remains cold and blue.
During the second stage of cholera the body becomes colder and the skin is dry, wrinkled and purple. The urine looks dark or is absent and the patient may die within 24 hours after the onset of this stage. This is followed by the third stage also known as the recovery stage in which all symptoms reverse naturally. This is marked by a decrease in loss of fluids and a noticeable improvement in the overall condition of the patient. A relapse can occur in this stage resulting in worsening of the symptoms over a period of 2-3 weeks accompanied by an increase in body temperature leaving the patient at an increased risk of pneumonia.
