Natural Treatment for Leg Pain

Leg pain is a term used interchangeably to refer to knee pain, foot pain, or pain in any other area of the leg. Leg pain reduces the body’s ability to function properly and can be the result of many factors, such as injury, nerve damage, muscle strain, joint pain, and/or numerous inflammatory conditions.

Causes
The causes of leg pain are numerous and include nerve damage, muscle tears or strain,
arthritis, tendinitis, bursitis, an injury from overuse, standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time, trauma to joints, muscles, or tendons, broken bones, vein disorder, and fatigue.

Symptoms
Some of the symptoms of leg pain are joint pain, muscle pain, soreness or weakness in the legs, feeling a sensation of heat or cold in the affected area, redness of the affected area, inflammation of the affected area, leg cramps, leg tenderness, and bruising or discoloration around the affected area.

Home remedies for Leg Pain
Many good home remedies will help to relieve your leg pain.

Mix 10 to 15 grams of camphor with 200 to 250 grams of mustard oil in a glass container. Store the bottled mixture in sunlight until the camphor dissolves. Massage the sore joints with this mixture daily; mix 2 to 3 tsp of fenugreek powder with water and drink it each morning.

Take cod liver oil to alleviate pain and weakness; eat several walnuts on an empty stomach every morning for pain relief; rub the affected joint with coconut oil for leg and knee pain.

Helpful Tips
Take weekly steam baths (and/or sauna treatments if possible); wrap the sore area with a red flannel material; eat a well-balanced diet, including healthy foods from all of the major food groups; take warm Epsom-salt baths; elevate the legs each night while sleeping or during the day while sitting; compress the affected area with an elastic bandage for support; use a heating pad on the affected area for pain relief.

Take non-prescription anti-inflammatory pain relievers (follow the instructions on the package; massage the affected area daily; see your doctor if the pain persists for a prolonged period of time (over 3 weeks).
