Mouth ulcer is an open sore inside the mouth caused by a break in the mucous membrane or the epithelium on the lips or surrounding the mouth. Once formed, the ulcer may be maintained by inflammation or by infection. Two common types of oral ulcer are canker sores and cold sores. Cold sores around the lip are induced by the herpes virus.
There are many reasons which can lead to ulceration of the oral tissues. It can be caused by an overreaction by the body’s own immune system. Some of the factors that provoke them are stress, fatigue illness, injury from accidental biting, menstruation deficiency of vitamin B12, iron and folic acid.
Gargling daily with lukewarm salt water is the most common remedy for mouth ulcer.
Green leaves and fresh vegetables are good source of vitamin B. take yogurt daily. Avoid hard chips, nuts and wafers.
Mix a pinch of hydrogen peroxide with 3 to 4 drops of water. Apply this paste on the affected area for quick relief.
Chew 5 to 6 Holy basil leaves in the empty stomach daily in the morning and evening. This is a good remedy for mouth ulcers and it prevents bad smell from mouth.
Apply a paste of Indian gooseberry and apply it on the affected area. It is also advised to have it. Amla is good for mouth ulcer.
Gargling daily with any antiseptic mouth wash prevents bad smell and it also cures mouth ulcers.
Apply any white toothpaste on the affected area two times daily is a good remedy for mouth ulcer.
Daily intake of tomato juice, orange juice and lime juice is good for mouth ulcer treatment.
It’s most consistent and important uses are as a demulcent in the digestive and urinary tracts. Licorice is helpful in lungs and soothes sore throats. It is a powerful anti-inflammatory, being used in conditions as varies as arthritis and mouth ulcers.
