Neck pain – A serious problem

Neck pain is the most common problem found in any of the age group. There are various conditions which causes neck problem. For people working in high stress jobs, tension in the work place, some muscular diseases, injuries etc are causes of neck pain.

In some of the cases the neck pain becomes so much intensive that it is intolerable and with a slight movement you feel too much pain. If at your work place the mobility of neck is too high then it may lead to stress and pain.

During any movement of our face the neck comes into play. The main factor which causes neck pain is lowering of blood supply to neck muscles. The decrement in blood supply causes stiffness as well pain, sometimes intense pain in neck.

Best home remedy to cure neck pain is massaging. This helps in increasing the flow of blood to normal level and gives us relief from pain. A mild neck exercise is also effective in curing it. In case the neck pain is caused due to emotional stress then it’s advisable to follow remedies which will keep you away from stress and tension.

Most of the people experiencing neck pain opt for medicines and pain killers. But it should be noted that regular consumption of such medicines can lead to side effects and various health complications. Alternatively herbal and home remedies are safer and are often cost free and more effective.

As discussed above, neck pain is caused due to lowering of blood supply in the neck muscle thus if heat is applied to neck, it can help increase blood supply and thus get neck pain cured. Hot fomentation bag, hot bottle etc can be used to apply heat to neck.

Ice can also be used to get quick relief. Applying ice to affected area is yet another home remedy. Fill a ice-bag or a strong poly bag with ice and apply to infected area for 10 to 15 minutes. It will get rid of neck pain to certain level. If symptoms still persist then its better to consult a doctor.
