What is obesity?
An individual that carries excessive extra weight is considered obese and this is a condition that affects people of any age and in any country. The main reason for an individual becoming obese is simply eating all the wrong foods in unhealthy quantities with no daily exercising.
It is common for an obese person to lead a very sedentary life style. Unfortunately these are the people who eat in order to enjoy life. Without eating large quantities of food daily, they do not feel they will be able to have any enjoyment in life.
Once an individual falls into the trap of overeating and no exercise as a way of life, the body becomes obese and changing this is very difficult. You can see, then, that preventing this condition is very important and a much easier plan.

Keep the body moving:
This does not have to be a complete workout, but just simple changes in your daily routine like instead of pushing the button on the elevator, take the stairs. Go for a swim or take a walk in the park to enjoy the evening air. Park your car in the back of the parking lot when you are shopping and walk to the store. Small changes make really big improvements in your overall health.
Exercise programs that build strength and build up your stamina will be the best choice when starting an exercise program. Try water aerobics in the beginning to build up your activity level. The harder exercises will be the ones that burn off the fat but the key is regular movement. Start with a light regime of half an hour and build it up over time. Do this as often as possible with the goal being five times a week.
Weigh in and measure on a regular basis:
Set aside the same time every week to chart your progress. This will give you an excellent idea whether you need to increase your efforts or if you are doing the perfect routine for your body.
Water, water and more water is key:
Plenty of fresh water intake is an absolute necessity. This is the way your body will be able to eliminate toxins and impurities that have built in your system. When you begin burning fat, it needs to go somewhere. Flush your body with water; it will thank you!
