Problems related to chills

  • Chills are a condition often caused due to long exposure of body to cold. Shivering and paleness are found to be other symptoms for chill. Even before you get slight or intense fever you may feel chills. This is the most common symptom when you get malaria. Younger children are more prone to this as compared to adults.

    Chills are very common in people of younger age. They are even more common in infants. In case if they are related to fevers then it’s advisable to consult a doctor. There are many things that cause chills. Some of them are extreme exposure of body to cold, pneumonia, bacterial problem, infectious disease etc. In many cases chills lead to fever and that can be a slight one or even intense in nature. If it’s intense then consult a doctor.

    In case if fever and chills both are symptom of any disease then utmost care should be taken to cure it. There should not be any kind of negligence in this case. The condition can be caused due to attack of some bacteria or virus. Sufficient rest is effective in case the fever is mild. However, if fever is too high then a doctor should be consulted. Drinking a lot of water is advisable as this will lower down the temperature of your body. Fever can be reduced to great extent by evaporation method. It also helps to reducing the temperature of body. Taking bath with mild hot water is advisable.

    If your child is suffering from chills and cold then the room temperature should be kept to a normal level. A cold room will make your child less comfortable. Intake of fluid substance and water will help your children to great extent. Make sure that your child wear light clothes for comfort. Sufficient rest and sleep is the best ever remedy in fever and chills. In case if your child is sleeping then do not disturb him/her for checking the temperature or any other reason.

    Avoid intake of alcohol to lower the temperature of body as it may result to fatal and worst results. In case fever is too high and accompanied with chills for a longer time then consulting a doctor becomes necessary.
