Problems with Body Rash

Body rash is a skin disease which is characterized by single spots or groups of them, changed skin color or scarcities in almost any area of the body. The rash can be caused by a variety of factors – common diseases like the measles or scarlet fever, specific food, clothing or household goods like washing powder.

In most cases people feel some inconvenience because of body rashes, as they tend to cause pain, itching, or burning. In some cases however, the rash does not present any discomfort, but nevertheless it must be paid attention to: body rash signals that the individual organism has some internal difficulties that need to be eliminated or treated.

First, it is strongly advised to consult the doctor and analyze if the rash is an allergic one or it results from some serious illness. If the rash is a result of the latter, the treatment is quite specific in each case; if the former, then some common rules can be applied.

Naturally, the allergen(s) need to be detected and avoided as best as possible. Besides that, some remedies should be employed; there are quite a lot of treatments nowadays, both medical drugs and traditional cures.

One of the most common and available ways of treatment is applying chamomile tea or olive oil to the affected region. The liquids produce a very good soothing effect, plus they are absolutely neutral and easy to obtain. An alternative home remedy could be comfrey or calcium water – they are used for making applications.

But apart from that, one need to ensure the affected area is kept as open as possible, without any dressings or bandages. While taking care of the food one eats (in order not to make things worse for the body), it is advised to stick to products high in vitamin C: they are oxidation retarders and will help in healing the body rash.

The only thing that should not be done is ignoring the rashes, as they are the sign that something is wrong. Also, however good the self-treatment is, one’s GP needs to be informed about the problem.
