Treat eczema naturally

  • The term eczema literally means ‘to boil’. It is one of the most common and distressing skin diseases that is caused due to an inflammation of the skin resulting in the formation of vesicles or pustules.

    Eczema is characterized by redness and swelling of the skin followed by the formation of minute vesicles. If the vesicles rupture, a raw moist surface is formed accompanied by a colorless discharge which crusts on accumulation. Eczema flares up at night due to retention of body heat and causes itching and is prone to bacterial infection due to moisture. Scratching the affected area spreads the infection and prolongs dryness and scaling.

    Eczema is caused by allergies, increased levels of toxicity in the blood stream, excessive sweating, constipation, stress, faulty metabolism and intake of an inappropriate diet.

    Natural treatment for eczema:

    The diet of a person affected by eczema must comprise of fresh fruits, steamed vegetables, whole wheat bread, nuts, alfalfa, honey and soy. Intake of salt should be minimized and spicy and strongly flavored foods should be eliminated from the diet.

    Neem or azadirachta indica is known for its antibacterial activity and helps combat various skin infections, including eczema effectively. It is recommended to take neem herbal dietary supplements in capsule form on a daily basis to prevent and treat eczema.

    Carrot and spinach juice is another effective remedy for combating eczema naturally. Take equal quantities of both juices and drink on an empty stomach for best results.

    Coconut oil also helps treat eczema and prevents spreading it to other parts of the body. You can apply coconut oil on the infected area. This keeps the skin soft and decreases moisture.

    Applying a mud pack on the eczema infected area for an hour twice or thrice a day also helps treat this skin disorder effectively.

    Haemafine syrup is an effective blood purifier that acts on the disease from within the body. It is recommended to take it 2-3 times a day for best results.

    Evening primrose is a potent herb that is recommended for the treatment of eczema by herbalists. As per research, in a number of cases eczema develops due to the body’s inability to convert fats into GLA. Taking evening primrose supplements helps supply the body with adequate quantities of GLA thereby, combating eczema effectively.
