Treatment for chronic prostatitis??

sir i am 24 year old male . I was suffering from chronic prostatitis since 2008. I have taken many antibiotics containing cefuroxime and cefixime for six months as per my urologist’s advice.besides that i am continuing taking hot sitz bath but there is only a temporary relief from pain. I feel very much discomfort always especially while urinating, defecating and after ejaculation and there is also burning sensation while urination. please suggest any medicine for permanent relief from this.

cefixime suprax is a terrible drug it does not penetrate the prostate at all.
I recently read an article on allexperts from urologist stephen leslie that cefixime can not penetrate the prostate. it is used for urinary tract infections and many urologists use it for prostatitis but honestly it 100 % does not work on prostatitis. my uro tried to put me on it and no way was I paying $900 for 28 days of a drug that does not even work for prostatitis.

I have also tried the ceftin (cefuroxime) drug and it didn’t work for me at all.

find a urologist who will do a prostate massage that way they can check your prostate fluid for bacteria and if they find any they can culture and tell you the exact antibiotic that will kill this.

make sure you are off all antibiotics for 14 days or it could mess up the lab culture and hide the bacteria in your prostate fluid culture….

some good antibiotics for prostatitis

include: the quinolones like ciprofloxacin ,levaquin etc.
if those aren’t working the ones I would recommend are cephalexin and cephradine those are Cephalosporins like the cefixime.
and one of the top drugs for prostatitis if you can handle it im deadly allergic to it though but it is sulfamethoxazole trimethoprim, its hard to pronounce so it has nicknames like bactrim. bactrim would be the drug of choice to start try it for a full 4 weeks and if it has an affect. I’d keep you on it for 8-12 weeks.

I feel bad for you man. I’m going what you are going through. and to be honest I have been to 3 urologists and they were all A-holes. most urologists usually wont even treat prostatitis…… that is best advice I can give you.
