What causes Constipation?
Constipation is one of the most frequently occurring digestive diseases usually caused by lack of fiber in the diet.
A disruption in the routine diet, lack of exercise, overuse of laxatives or even an inappropriate diet may cause constipation. The intestine may be seriously infected due to spicy and unhygienic food and this creates infrequent bowel opening.
Lack of sleep or irregular sleep may also cause constipation. All these factors cause mild constipation but if not treated then it may lead to serious infection like ulcer in the intestine, which can get aggravated later on. A constipated person may regularly be striving with defecation and hurt their anus.
Certain medication can also create constipation like high doses of antibiotics. To counteract this, one must drink plenty of water. Water prevents dehydration and it helps easy bowel movement. But always it may not work out.
New places, aging, traveling or any kind of disturbance in regular food intake causes constipation. Stroke causes digestive disorders. Strain and Stress are becoming an important cause of constipation.
If the colon absorbs too much water or if its muscle contractions are little bit slowly, the stool will also move slowly towards the rectum.
There are hard and dry stools which are chunky in texture which get blocked at the rectum and the elimination becomes very painful and difficult.
If there is not much fiber content in the diet, there is lack of physical activity, there is not enough milk consumption in the body or if there is any problem with regular intestinal functions and the urge to eliminate stool is either ignored, then there are high chances of developing constipation.
The best way to avoid constipation is to follow proper daily routine and maintain a healthy diet.
