What should be the appropriate doses of triphala to cure indigestion?

Hi, Can you please tell me when is the best time to take Triphala? Can I take it 3 times a day between meals ( one capsule/time) instead of twice per day? Does this herb has any side effect? My concern is mostly indigestion ( bloating in the mid section). Can I take this herbs continuously, when should I take a break from it and for how long? There are various conflicting information about how long this herbs should be taken and the appropriate dosage ( from 250 to 1000 mg per capsules 2 or 3 times per day )and the time of day to take it ( after of before meals ). Please help me with these.  Thank you

Hello and greetings from

Triphala is the medicine of choice for constipation, piles, colitis and many other digestive system disorders. This is an Ayurvedic medicines composed of three different herbs having very good positive effects on whole GIT system. This medicines stimulates digestive juices, assists in complete digestion and passage of food through GIT, helps in better absorption and evacuation. It helps in relieving constipation and increases a natural peristaltic movement which in turn relieves indigestion and bloating. The daily doses of triphala are one capsule of 500 mg twice a day after meals. If problem is more severe and chronic in nature one can increase the dose of triphala to three to four capsules a day in divided doses like 2 capsules a day or three capsules a day. Triphala is a good source of anti oxidants and is no way harmful to anybody. One can use triphala as long as he/she needs without the fear of any side effect. We request you to keep your course regular for best results.
